Xed Journey
The inspiration to become an entrepreneur in my opinion can come from varied sources. With a happy childhood spent in the beautiful city of Kolkata and a memorable graduation from St. Xavier’s College, pursuing Chartered Accountancy as a profession was something that appealed to me from my early college days. It was during this pursuit that I had the opportunity to undergo an internship with Ernst & Young.
During one of the internal audit assignments, I had an opportunity to interact with various departments in the organization including Marketing, Operations, HR, IT and Finance. I loved interacting with the CEO of the company because he used to share interesting insights on how to run a company. This experience gave a direction to my career as I was bitten by the entrepreneurial bug. I left a well paid job & started preparing for CAT to pursue an MBA.
I had very high expectations from the management course but within weeks I realized, an MBA only succeeds in providing an overview of different management concepts. Barring few assignments and projects, one does not really learn much about running a company. This got me thinking and I decided to do some research.
I interviewed 25-30 batch mates & faculties and also spoke to students from leading IIMs. The innovative ideas I generated out of discussions, created a lot of interest in the education sector and for the remaining duration of the course, I used to work on business plans in the education space. By the time I graduated I had a couple of business ideas to start working on.
Xed Intellect
was the final form those ideas took. Xed Intellect was started to provide training, assessment and recruitment solutions to B-schools & corporate entities. First we ventured into e-learning because it is easily accessible and has a universal reach. With expertise in e-learning solutions, we are now developing assessment models and helping B-schools and companies in recruitments to provide an end to end solution to both students and recruiters.
